65daysofstatic would like to post their deepest apologies. We failed to make it to Middlesborough to play this (sunday) evening. It’s not something we’re in the habit of doing.

Please believe us when we say that there was really nowhere else we wanted to be tonite. We essentially got up this morning, loaded all our stuff down three flights of stairs, and made our new tech Ozzy drive over from Liverpool and collect a van for us only to sit in a 2 and a half hour tailback because they closed the A1. We were in the front half mile of the traffic jam, and it took us 2 hours to go about a half mile. By the time we got off the motorway, our show time was long gone, and the festival was quite probably drawing to a close. Driving back down the other side, it turns out we were actually quite lucky to only be in traffic for a few hours. By the looks of things, there are proabably still people there now.

It was out of our hands. If you came to see us, or you were one of the other bands or you were organising or working at the festival and were kind enough to book us in the first place…we’re truly very sorry. I think it’s the second or third time we’ve missed playing a show ever.

We’re back in our new echo chamber (rehearsal room) busy writing again tomorrow, so we’ll probably complete a short ballad about the events of today sometime in the early morning before Paul starts throwing shapes on the piano and Rob and Si play some more deep funk/drone crossover, while I work out the chords to ‘time after time’ by Cyndi Lauper.

Seriously. Major major bad. No fun whatsoever. Probably about time we bought a hot air ballon and cut out roads altogether.
