We’re being haunted by an almost TOTAL lack of sleep.

This is it. Our 5th week of touring. Back where it all began. Sort of…

Melodrama and hysteria is creeping into the 65 camp. It’s very exciting. After 5 weeks on the road everything has become either HYSTERICALLY FUNNY or else VERY SERIOUS INDEED.

We keep failing to post on the blog. So. Many. Things… We’ve already forgotten most of them.

But.

History is written by the winners, is it not? And what are 65daysofstatic if not winners? (Whiners?) Winos?

Winos, stat!

Since Germany and the polizei, here’s stuff:

- We played a festival in Belgium before a band called Servants of The Apocalyptic Goatrave. They wore cloaks and played 200bpm breakcore. They were FANTASTIC. Joe went on a bike and in the morning there were a disgusting amount of pancakes served by a japanese firewoman (thanks jenny)
- We went to Holland and then Belgium again. And France. All of these countries were beautiful, as were the people and the shows. Thank you all again for your constant politeness and helpfulness. You put our own country to shame in so many ways.

- We came back to England early after having to cancel a French shows. Apologies, France. Fuck you, M25.
- We played The Great Escape Festival in Brighton last week. It was a whole lot of fun. Thanks everyone who turned up to see us when there was clearly a whole lot of other stuff going on too. Also, to the people who returned our reindeer to us: props. (That’s electronica-speak for ‘thanks’).

- Afterwards, we played a DJ set at a Kerrang aftershow to ABSOLUTELY NO-ONE. But it was cool anyway cos we cut-up Nick Cave into Slipknot and Breakcore. Rob did some cd scratching. We fucking ruled, actually. And it rained like a SANDY DENNY SONG Stat!

- We drove to London the next day and accidentally fell into a SHAKESPEARIAN TRAGEDY which will come to light, one day. It involved all of us basically being awake for 40 hours. Then we played in Birmingham at some point near the end in a semi-comatose state. Thanks to the Birmingham crowd for being pretty brutal and helping keep us awake. Peace good Mercutio peace, thou talkst of nothing!
- The next night we played in Liverpool. Disco Ensemble joined the Kerrang tour for the first time so it became the full 3-band bill. 65 managed to appear INCREDIBLY anti-social in Birmingham by being either grumpy or asleep. Last night, in Liverpool, we ignored everyone again by being completley wrapped up in a world that involves feeling bad about the existence of Travelodges. Our tiny but alcoholic crew went out to drink with the bands and we somehow found ourselves alone in the dressing room, missing the party. This whole band is basically a really long collection of missing-the-party-situations. The gig was tough but the crowd were supportive. Special thanks to the Manchester crew for bringing the books again. And the bourbon. See you down the front…
- Tonight in Glasgow, after the show, some guy said to Rob, ‘I know it must feel like you’ve been on the road forever and it’s just another show but it’s really appreciated that you play as hard as you do. Some people really believe in what you’re doing’.

Which just about makes the whole 2 and half years seem worthwhile.

Make it one for my baby, and one more for the road.
