We’ve arrived. Me and Robb were still awake this morning when the bus parked up at about 6am, but we didn’t realise we were right by the ocean until the sun came up. After singing the whole of graceland (again) having a sobering-up kind of cup of tea and a cheese sandwich, we did actually venture out, stopping only to write ‘I like coldplay’ on slo-mo’s head (he was passed out on the floor). I think we’d been awake for about 27 hours, and we were both a bit drunk, so there was nothing for it but to look at the mist glowing in the little bit of sun coming up over the horizon, and watch the rain blow in off the top of the empire, and generally run around next to the waves feeling pretty fucking high/eternal (delete as appropriate).

Everyones been for a little walk in the boho streets, and looked at all the really crazy shops/people there are down here. I was secretly looking out for nick cave. simon has just declared himself to be drunk on food, but this might be because he hasn’t eaten for a bit and a lot of sandwiches have just turned up.

The concorde is very pretty, a kind of faded old seafront place with stained glass windows, that feels as if its waiting for the 1920s to happen again.

I can hear the sound of a kick drum being soundchecked. So I should probably go.

I found a barmaid who made the best long island iced tea I have ever had last night. And it came in a pint glass.

this is it, almost the end. but it’s not realy the end, because we’re going to stay on tour in one form or the other at least until september.

see you tonite if you’re coming tonight.

Oh Paul’s here. This is what’s in his sandwich: houmous, cheese, cheese spread, salad, crisps.
